Don T. Reynolds
Don Reynolds opened Lake Mary High School as its first principal in 1981 and personally established the culture that made the school what it is today. During his 30 years as an educator, one of his most important contributions to high school sports was his leadership in the fight against steroid abuse by student-athletes. Our football stadium now bears the name of this man who built Lake Mary High School from the inside out and whose focus on creating an elite athletic program from the beginning paved the way for the current student-athletes.Reynolds was enshrined in the 1995 FHSAA Athletic Hall of Fame for his contributions as an Administrator. He also served on the FHSAA Board of Directors from 1984 through 1990.
Larry McCorkle
Larry McCorkle began his longest coaching stint at Lake Mary High School in 1982, where he coached the boys' soccer teams to six FHSAA Finals appearances, including two state runner-up finishes in 1987 and 2003, and eight more regional appearances. As the state soccer chairman for the Florida Athletic Coaches Association, McCorkle organized the first state soccer poll and all-state team. He also organized the first soccer all-star game and the annual FACA soccer clinic. He is a member of the Florida Athletic Coaches Association and the Seminole County Halls of Fame, and received a National Merit Award from the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association of America in 1993.
Doug Peters
Doug Peters started his career at Lake Mary High School as an assistant wrestling coach, having just graduated from UCF where he was a 1980 NCAA wrestling All-American. He would go on to become the head wrestling coach, leading the team to multiple SAC Conference, district and regional championships. He would continue as the head football coach and three time FHSAA state championship golf coach until becoming Lake Mary High School's Athletic Director. In 1999 Peters was inducted into the first class of Lyman High School's Hall of Fame and in 2010 he was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Frank Schwartz
Frank Schwartz was one of Lake Mary High School's first wrestling coaches and instrumental in establishing the Lake Mary Athletic Boosters Association early in the school's founding. Schwartz was one of the first coaches that Don Reynolds hired, stocking the shelves with some of the most highly decorated and gifted coaches for LMHS. He immediately saw success in coaching Lake Mary's Jack Likens to two state championships and after retiring from wrestling, he would continue on as a career counselor and was instrumental in expanding the outreach of the Lake Mary Athletic Boosters Assocation.
Donna Rohr (c/o 1989)
Donna Rohr was the captain of Lake Mary High School's first girls' state championship soccer team in 1989 and an All American. Rohr was the 1989 Seminole Sentinel girls soccer athlete of the year and honorary captain of the All-Seminole County team finishing the season with 40 goals and 18 assists. Rohr scored 132 career goals for Lake Mary, including the game-winner in the 1989 Class AAAA state final, and was also an all-state selection for three years.
Jack Likens Jr. (First Graduating Class 1984)
Jack Likens Jr. was Lake Mary High School's first boys' state champion wrestler in 1983 and repeated the feat in 1984 - a record that still stands today. Likens Jr. was also a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist and served in the Naval Academy.
